Volunteer Terms

Purpose
Volunteers support Digital Kids Foundation (DKF) in advancing access to technology, digital literacy, and educational opportunities for underserved children and families.
Participation
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance or placement. DKF may determine assignments, scheduling, training, and eligibility based on program needs. Volunteers may stop participating by notifying DKF.
Conduct and safety
Volunteers must act respectfully, follow applicable laws and DKF instructions, and avoid harassment, discrimination, threats, or unsafe behavior. Do not make promises to beneficiaries or donors without authorization.
Working with children
Volunteers must follow DKF safeguarding procedures and any required screening, training, and supervision. Do not contact, photograph, interview, transport, or meet a child privately without authorization and appropriate parent or guardian consent. Report safeguarding concerns promptly to DKF leadership and relevant authorities when required.
Confidentiality and data
Use information about children, families, donors, and other volunteers only for authorized DKF activities. Do not share personal details, photos, or records without permission. Return or securely delete DKF materials when participation ends.
Devices and donations
Handle donated equipment carefully. Do not access personal files on donated devices or distribute devices independently. Follow DKF procedures for secure data wiping, inventory, and recipient selection.
Expenses and representation
Volunteers must obtain approval before spending money on DKF’s behalf. Volunteers may not claim to speak for DKF, solicit donations in its name, or use its logo without authorization.
Volunteer status
Unless DKF separately agrees in writing, volunteer participation is unpaid and does not create an employment relationship. Any reimbursement arrangements must be separately approved.
